Student Challenge 2025-2026 Benchmarking AI Factories on MeluXina supercomputer
Challenges

Open for EUMaster4HPC Master students Cohort 3 only

The objective of this challenge is to prepare students for the upcoming AI Factories in the European Union. These AI Factories will harness the power of next-generation HPC and AI systems to revolutionise data processing, analytics, and model deployment. Through this challenge, students will gain practical skills in AI benchmarking, system monitoring, and real-world deployment scenarios—equipping them to design and operate future AI Factory workflows at scale.

Challenge: Benchmarking and regression testing of a Quantum Monte Carlo Simulation application in HPC system
Challenges

Open for EUMaster4HPC Master students Cohort 2 only

The objective of this project is the implementation of a benchmarking and regression testing framework for a Quantum Monte Carlo simulation package in HPC systems. The project targets a specific application, the QMeCha package, which has been open sourced recently. The application is distributed with a set of tests, but the organisation of the tests into various groups to facilitate development and deployment of the application, and the porting of tests into new types of systems (ARM based processors) remains an open problem.

Timeline of the Challenge

  • Launch of the challenge:  the challenge officially starts on the 16 September 2024
  • End of the challenge: early January 2025
  • Evaluation period: January – June 2025
  • Results: EUMaster4HPC Summer School 2025
